QR labels

Each door gets a QR label. Scanning it with a phone camera opens that door in Adore. Each label has its own code, which never changes: 8 letters and numbers printed under the QR (for example 7K3M 9QX2). If the camera won't scan, type the code instead. Only admins can make, link or void labels.

Two ways to label doors

Blank labels, linked on the walk-round. Go to Portfolio → QR labels and make a batch of blank sheets, 21 labels a sheet and up to 210 at a time. Stick one on each door, then scan it and choose which door it's on. Nothing goes wrong if a label ends up on an unexpected door, because you link it where it is.

Labels for doors already registered. On a building's page, choose Print labels. Adore makes a label for every active door there that doesn't have one (or only those on one floor), links each label to its door straight away, and prints the door's reference, floor and location next to the QR. Whoever fits them just matches the name to the door, with nothing to scan, so the job can go to someone without an admin login. The catch: a label on the wrong door isn't caught, so check the name before sticking it on. Labels come lowest floor first, up to 210 at a time; for a bigger building, make another batch for the rest.

Printing

Labels print on A4 sheets of 21 (63.5 × 38.1 mm, the common L7160 layout). Print at actual size (100%) with margins set to none. To finish a part-used sheet, set Start at label to the first empty position: 1 is top left, then across the row.

Every batch stays under Portfolio → QR labels, so you can print it again later. A batch of blank labels reprints only the labels nobody has linked yet. A batch made for doors reprints the labels still on their doors.

Reprinting one door's label

If a label is damaged, open the door and choose Print label. The reprint has the same code, so there's nothing to link again. The door page also shows the QR and code, and has Download SVG and Download PNG for engraved plates or your own label printer.

Using your own labels

Download CSV on a batch, or on a building's page, gives every code as printed (for example 7K3M 9QX2), the address its QR opens, and the door it's on. Send that to whoever makes your plates or tags.

Replacing or voiding a label

  • Replace label on the door's page links a different label. The old label is voided.
  • Void label is for a label that's lost or on the wrong door. Scanning it no longer opens the door, and its code can never be used again.
  • Void unused on a batch voids the labels in it that aren't on a door yet, for example if a sheet goes missing. Labels already on doors aren't touched.

Every link, replacement and void is kept in the door's register history.
