Every failed item becomes a defect on the door. Open defects are listed on the door's page.
What a defect records
- What's wrong: your description of the failed item.
- Risk / priority: Critical, High, Medium or Low. Each item has a sensible default you can change.
- Required action: what needs doing. A suggestion is filled in for you.
- Responsible person: who is going to fix it.
- Target date: when it should be fixed by.
- Photos: the photos you took of the defect.
Default target dates
The target date is set from the priority, counting from today. Changing the priority resets the date; you can then change it to any date in the next two years.
| Priority | Fix within |
|---|---|
| Critical | 1 day |
| High | 7 days |
| Medium | 14 days |
| Low | 28 days |
When the same item fails again
If an item fails while its defect from an earlier inspection is still unresolved, Adore updates that defect instead of adding a second one. Your new priority, action, responsible person and target date replace the old ones, and the defect's history shows it failed again.
How a defect closes
When a later inspection passes the item, the defect is marked Verified automatically, and the record shows which inspection verified it.
