When to refer
Tick Refer for specialist assessment when the door's construction, rating or suitability is uncertain: for example, there's no label and you can't tell whether it's a fire door at all.
Referring overrides Pass and Fail. Any failed items are still logged as defects.
When the result is Fail or Refer, record the immediate safety action you took (for example "Wedge removed, residents told"), or write "None".
